Pregnancy is the ultimate strain on the female body, from gestation,labor and delivery, to the post partum period. Musculoskeletal changes occur throughout the 3 trimesters that create stress on the feet, hips, lower back, pelvic floor, and neck.

Why not prepare for the marathon of labor and delivery like we do for an athletic event?

Stretching of the pelvic region, breathing techniques and exercises can significantly improve the successful outcome of your delivery. There is a greater potential for you and your baby to feel more comfortable throughout the pregnancy.

Common symptoms we treat include:

  • Low back pain
  • Sciatica
  • Sacroiliac (SI) joint dysfunction
  • Pubic symphysis pain and separation
  • Thoracic pain
  • Urinary incontinence

What to expect during physical therapy:

Functional stretching and exercises Joint and soft tissue mobilization Education on body mechanics and posture Breathing mechanics Custom home exercise program Structural support recommendations (ie. splints, belts)
